We Protect Coconut Grove's Boats From Salt and Sun

South Florida is one of the most demanding marine environments in the world for surface protection. Saltwater spray, UV radiation at tropical intensity, and biological activity in warm water accelerate the degradation of every exposed material. Products rated for inland or northern-climate use do not perform the same way here.

Marine PPF for Hull and Deck Surfaces

Paint protection film applied to hull paint and gelcoat protects against abrasion from dock contact, debris in the water, and the micro-impact damage that accumulates over seasons of use. Marine PPF conforms to curved hull surfaces and is applied using the same prep and installation standards used on vehicle paintwork.

Marine Ceramic Coating Above and Below Waterline

Ceramic coating on topsides and hull surfaces makes maintenance easier and slows the adhesion of salt, mineral deposits, and marine growth. Above the waterline, coating protects painted surfaces and gelcoat from UV and oxidation. Specialized formulations are used for surfaces that see direct water contact.

Marine Vinyl Wrap for Color and Identity

Hull color changes and branded graphics on commercial and recreational vessels are completed using marine-grade vinyl film. The same reversibility that makes vinyl attractive on road vehicles applies to boats. The underlying gelcoat stays shielded from the elements for as long as the film remains.

The products we install are selected for South Florida conditions. Every installation is documented and inspected before the vessel leaves.

Why Marine Surfaces Require Dedicated Protection

Marine surfaces face compounding threats that land vehicles do not. Salt, UV, heat, humidity, and biological activity work simultaneously. Protection that holds up in one environment may fail in another, and on a boat, product failure shows fast.

Salt Corrosion and UV Exposure Work Year-Round

Coconut Grove's climate offers no off-season for marine surfaces. Salt air and sun are present year-round in South Florida, which means a boat that sits untouched still degrades continuously. Protective films and coatings interrupt that process by putting a barrier between the surface and the environment.

Coatings Rated for Constant Water Contact

Not all ceramic coatings are rated for immersed or splash-zone surfaces. We use products tested and formulated for marine applications where the surface may be wet for extended periods. Film adhesion is confirmed for the relevant surface type before any installation is approved.

Our Process

Our Marine Protection Process

The process for marine protection follows the same logic as our vehicle work: assess, prepare, install, document. No product goes on an unprepared surface, and no vessel is released without a final inspection.

01

Surface Assessment and Product Selection

The vessel is assessed for surface condition, existing damage, and areas that need protection. Product selection is confirmed based on the surface type, its location on the vessel, and the specific threats it faces. Coverage scope is documented before work begins.

02

Surface Prep and Decontamination

Marine surfaces often carry salt residue, algae, oxidation, and previous wax or polish. All contamination is removed before any film or coating is applied. Prep standards are the same as vehicle work.

03

Application and Final Inspection

Film and coating are applied panel by panel or section by section. Each area is checked before moving to the next. A full inspection is completed before the vessel is released, with documentation and photos filed.
